Brian Anton currently serves the Purdy R-II (Missouri) School District as the 7-12 Principal after working in the PK-12 Assistant Principal and Athletic Director roles for two years. In the 12 years prior to moving into administration, he served as an award-winning high school social studies teacher.
Outside of teaching, he is a National Editorial Board Member for Teaching History: A Journal of Methods, and served for six years years on the board for the Missouri Council for the Social Studies as the VP of Legislation, President-Elect, President, & Past President. He earned his B.S. from College of the Ozarks in History and Secondary Education, his M.A. in History from Missouri State University and Ed.S. in Education Administration from Lindenwood University. Brian also served College of the Ozarks for four years as an adjunct education instructor, teaching Best Practices for Teaching Social Studies. Before moving to a different school district and community, he served for over five years as Ward I Alderman at the City of Forsyth, Missouri. Brian has also presented and facilitated workshops based on his experiences in the learner-driven classroom on Project/Problem Based Learning, the Flipped Classroom, Preparing Students for the New Missouri State Assessments, and other topics including the incorporation of George Washington into the curriculum and personalizing the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He is available for education consulting and professional development. |
